About this category
The map tools are designed for working with geographic data without having a desktop GIS at hand. The editor lets you draw points, lines and polygons on a map, import existing layers and export the result. The converter translates between Shapefile, KML, KMZ, GeoJSON and WKT, the formats most often exchanged between applications and web services.
They are complemented by IP address geolocation, which places an IP on the map along with its provider and ASN, and a lookup of your own public IP. Keep in mind that the location of an IP is an estimate based on registry databases: it usually gets the country and region right, but it does not indicate a physical address.
