How it works
Read and decode QR and barcodes from an image you upload or directly with the camera. It detects the format automatically and shows you the decoded content along with the recognized code type, ready to copy.
It recognizes a wide variety of formats: QR Code, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar, GS1-128, PDF417, Data Matrix, Aztec and more. You can drag an image, select it from your device or point with the camera.
Reading happens entirely in your browser: neither the images nor the video are sent to a server. Camera access is only used while reading is active, and you can stop it whenever you want.

Frequently asked questions
Which code formats can it read?
It detects QR codes and the main 1D barcode formats (EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar, GS1-128) and 2D (PDF417, Data Matrix, Aztec), among others. The format is recognized automatically, no need to choose it.
Why doesn't it recognize the code in my image?
It usually comes from poor sharpness, low contrast, glare or the code taking up a very small part of the photo. Try a more focused, well-lit image cropped to the code, or use the camera moving in slowly.
Do I need to grant camera permission?
Only if you use camera mode: the browser will ask for authorization the first time. The video is processed on your device and is neither stored nor uploaded. You can also work only with images, without turning on the camera.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Both image decoding and camera reading are done inside the browser; the content never leaves your device.
